ABOUT RYAN
Ryan Slavin is a professional bassist who studies and is versed in a varied range of musical genres focused on jazz and R&B.
Ryan has musical experience playing in live settings the majority being as a pit musician doing both classical and modern shows. While Ryan's primary instrument is the bass he has many students of all ages learning guitar and piano.
He helps his students express themselves through music and helps them explore improvisation in fun and simple ways.

How do you help students reach their musical goals?
I help my students reach their goals by helping them learn and maintain efficient practicing techniques dependent on their strengths and weaknesses.

What made you want to become a teacher?
I find that an important part of being a musician is being able to pass on what you learn to those who wish to learn. I also find it to be important for my own growth as a musician as I find that even my beginner students have much they can teach me as well.

What is your favorite thing about music?
Playing in group settings and being able to collaborate with other musicians to create.

What are your musical goals long-term?
In the long term I would like to have the capacity to travel and study music from various cultures around the world.
